With over 25 years of field-tested experience across infrastructure, GIS, media, and political strategy, Clayton brings a rare blend of technical depth and strategic clarity to every project.
He entered public service early, becoming one of the youngest elected officials in Canada at 18, and later serving as the youngest mayor in the country at 19. That experience offered an uncommon vantage point on how infrastructure, operations, policy, and public messaging work together in the real world.
After public office, he moved into technical fieldwork across surveying, mapping, and construction. Supported by diplomas in microcomputers and microprocessors, civil engineering technology, and geomatics, he developed a systems-oriented mindset grounded in spatial intelligence, precision, and hands-on execution.
Today, he helps organizations communicate complex projects through mapping, media, and technology. His work spans land development, infrastructure, resource projects, municipal communications, real estate marketing, and political strategy. By combining field experience with modern tools, he helps clients improve visibility, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and turn technical information into clear, actionable communication.
He also publishes Field Notes, a newsletter documenting tools, tactics, trades, and hard-learned lessons from the field.
